Hi!
My name’s Muhammad Ersan Pamungkas. You can call me Ersan. I’m from Jakarta, Indonesia. I’ve become a professional linguist (working from English into Indonesian and vice versa) for more than 15 years for multiple clients, both from Indonesia and other countries.
I received my Master Degree from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia on Translation and Interpreting and a Doctor Degree in Translation Studies from the University of Indonesia (UI).

I currently work as an associate translator and interpreter at Cabinet Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia, with daily jobs including translating online news stories from Indonesian into English and reviewing the translation done by junior translators.
My additional jobs include translating and reviewing legal texts, formal letters, and speeches from Indonesian into English and vice versa, interpreting, teaching, and writing academic papers on translation-related topics.
Apart from my full-time job, I am also freelance translator for UOB Indonesia and several international agencies and companies both at home and abroad.
My previous freelance translation experience includes translating promotional materials, reports, press releases, marketing materials, news articles, reports, and many others.
Since the past one year, I’ve become a columnist for several major publications in Indonesia and abroad.
I can describe myself as a professional with a strong work ethic and is assertive and creative, and in possession of a large vocabulary and good language skills.
